Many men wish they could last a little bit longer during sex. Why? Because women want a man that can rock their boat long enough to get to orgasm. If you find yourself unable to control the timing of your ejaculation or last long enough to give your woman a climax, and cannot delay it a few moments even if you want to and try, then you may meet the criteria of what we consider “premature ejaculation” (PE).

And premature ejaculation is nothing short of a really serious ailment. In fact, weak erection and premature ejaculation has destroyed good relationships and also torn families apart. Statistics show that most women never get their desired kind of sex and their bodies properly rocked in bed because their men can’t last long enough for them to experience the utmost pleasure. Most men are dying within themselves because of this hard truth and seriously looking for solutions to a problem that keeps persisting and keeps ruining their sexual lives.

Here are a few tips to outsmart PE and its subsequent bedroom quarrels and disgrace – some require great effort, others are quick fixes and some require a visit to a healthcare provider. But all are commonly recommended by sexual health professionals (sex educators, therapists, sexual medicine doctors), including myself.

Wear a condom.

For some men, a small barrier between them and their partner is enough to help decrease sensation to the penis (especially if it’s a slightly thicker condom) and help them last longer during sex. Some men sometimes try “doubling up” and wearing two condoms at once in a bid to reduce over-sensitivity in the penis. I have to tell you that this is never a good idea. Why? Because two condoms, worn at once, don’t sit together comfortably – they’ll rub against each other during intercourse, which can cause both condoms to tear.

Use a desensitizing condom

Consider a performance-enhancing condom that contains a numbing agent, such as lidocaine or benzocaine, inside the condom. If you’re also prone to erectile problems, or if you have very sensitive skin, these condoms may not be the best choice for you.

Try the stop-start or squeeze techniques

These take dedication but they have long been recommended by sex therapists to men who wish to last longer during sex. They involve stimulating yourself until just before the point of no return (when a man will ejaculate no matter what) then either stopping all stimulation (for stop-start) or gently squeezing the glans (head) of the penis (for the squeeze technique). Wait for arousal to decrease slightly then start again. Repeat one more time and on the third time, give yourself a break and let yourself ejaculate. Over time, you may become better tuned to the sensations that cue you into your imminent ejaculation. This awareness will eventually give you the chance to last longer by reminding you to hold still, pull out from your partner and gently squeeze the head of the penis, or pull out and briefly switch to a less sensational position for a few moments.

Give your body some love

Reduce smoking, drinking and excess sugar intake (soft drinks, sugar-processed foods like beverages, fruit juice and snacks). Exercise your body to eradicate obesity and overweight issues – keeping your body fit at all times is paramount because being fit is one of the natural ways to fight weak erections and premature ejaculation as blood will be flowing properly within the body system.
