5 reasons why you can’t maintain a full erection

It’s no wonder that erection is the number one subject men want to discuss whenever they reach out to me – this is a sensitive topic which is deeply connected to your masculinity and self-esteem.

A weak erection does not only disappoint your partner, but also the fierce man inside of you who thinks he should perform without fail every time. And it can be quite terrifying to admit that, oh well, sometimes it happens: you lose your erection during sex and even when everything seems to be going perfectly.

But no matter how bad it makes you feel, it’s not uncommon at all – in fact, most men experience weak erections at some point in their lives and it doesn’t even have to do with age. And the reason I’m saying this is because I know for a fact that men in their 20’s also have to deal with it sometimes.

While studies have shown that the average intercourse session lasts 7.3 minutes, let’s be honest here – that’s not enough action for your woman to reach her climax. Modern days put more and more focus on female pleasure, which I appreciate, but that means more pressure for you to be able to deliver it.

Pressure aside, though… prolonged sexy play is fun for both you, so instead of rushing things out because you fear your erection might die halfway, wouldn’t it be better to make sure you’re doing everything you can to prevent that and have even more fun with your lover?

Here are the main 5 reasons why you can’t maintain a full erection during sex:

You put too much pressure on yourself

If your penis works when you masturbate but then fails to perform during steamy encounters with you lady, it means erectile dysfunction (ED) is out of the question. Which is good news!

On the other hand… all psychological aspects of life are complicated because often times it’s impossible to control our thoughts. If you start your hot session with anxiety, things just won’t go well.

Try to minimize the pressure of the act itself by turning it into a sexy play. Surprise your woman with an erotic game that keeps you both engaged – your erection will love novelty. Plus, you’ll feel less pressure and more excitement.

You have too much alcohol in your system

It’s common to get flirty over a glass of wine thinking that it will make you more relaxed and give you more confidence, but it has been scientifically proven that alcohol is a depressant which can kill your erection when you least expect it. If you really need it to get things started, don’t consume more than one glass. But then again… if you rely too much on it, maybe there’s an underlying problem you need to address.

Your sleep schedule is all over the place

You might not think this has anything to do with your erection, but actually, your sleep schedule is very important. Your brain needs enough sleep to function properly, and do I need to remind you that your brain is the one making the erection possible in the first place? Lack of sleep raises the stress hormone called cortisol, and this can really mess up with your erection by lowering your testosterone levels. One of the main indicators is the loss of morning erection.

So if everything else fails, try a more strict sleep schedule – you might see some positive changes.

You’re used to a different kind of stimulation

And I’m talking about masturbation here. If you’re used to a different speed or grip when you masturbate, you won’t get the same level of stimulation during sex. Also, if you do it too often, you can desensitize your penis. Try to slow down or use your non-dominant hand.

You suffer from hormone imbalance

Hormones are very tricky business as they can get messed up by a lot of things, whether we’re talking about an unhealthy diet, unhealthy sleep schedule, sleep pills or even a chronic health condition like diabetes. Also, anabolic steroids can suppress natural testosterone production.

So I recommend you get a blood test so you can check your hormone levels. If this is the culprit, your doctor can help.

Hot kisses,

Gabrielle Moore

P.S.: Shutting down won’t help. Remember that it’s not uncommon for men to experience erection problems and this is not necessarily related to erectile dysfunction, which is a serious condition.
